The Bull Terrier β instantly recognisable by its egg-shaped head β was developed in 19th-century England from bulldog and terrier crosses. They're famously playful, comical and deeply attached to their family ("kids in dog suits").
Temperament
Playful, loving, mischievous, stubborn. Excellent with children but can be dog-reactive. Need consistent training from puppyhood.
Exercise needs
90 minutes of daily exercise. Bull Terriers can be obsessive β destructive when bored.
Grooming
Short coat, weekly brush.
Common health issues
Deafness (BAER test recommended). Heart conditions. Polycystic kidney disease (DNA test). Skin allergies. Compulsive behaviours (tail chasing).
