These Terms govern your use of alleavia.com (the “Site”), our shop, our free pet-care tools, our AI services and our Pet Pro membership. The Site is operated by Alleavia, a family-run pet supplies business based in Kilkenny, Ireland (contact: contact@alleavia.com, +353 87 712 0654).
By using the Site you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Site. We sometimes update these Terms; the date above shows when. Material changes are flagged on this page and to active Pet Pro members by email at least 30 days before they take effect.
1. Who can use the Site
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account or buy from us. You confirm the details you give us are accurate and you keep them up to date. You’re responsible for keeping your password safe and for everything that happens under your account.
2. Buying from the shop
Prices include VAT where applicable and are shown in Euro (€). Shipping is calculated at checkout. We accept orders only from addresses we ship to (currently Ireland and selected EU countries — see checkout for the live list).
Your statutory consumer rights are not affected. Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (Directive 2011/83/EU, transposed in Ireland by SI 484/2013), you have a 14-day cooling-off period to cancel most online purchases, starting the day you receive the goods. Some items are excluded by law — bespoke items, sealed perishables, sealed health-related goods unsealed after delivery. To cancel, email contact@alleavia.com within 14 days of delivery.
We aim to dispatch in-stock orders within 1–2 business days. If a delay arises we’ll let you know by email. If a product turns out to be faulty or not as described, we’ll repair, replace or refund under your statutory rights.
3. Pet Pro membership — auto-renewal terms (important)
Pet Pro is a recurring paid subscription unlocking unlimited AI usage, multi-pet sync, premium calculators and other perks listed on the Pet Pro page. The current plans are €4.99/month, €39.99/year (saves ~33%) and €99 lifetime. New monthly + yearly subscribers get a 7-day free trial — no charge if you cancel before it ends.
Auto-renewal: monthly and yearly plans automatically renew at the end of each billing period at the same price, charged to the payment method on file. We email you a reminder before each renewal (at least 7 days for yearly, at least 24 hours for monthly). Lifetime plans are a one-off charge with no renewal.
How to cancel: log in, go to “My account → Pet Pro”, and click “Manage subscription” — that opens the secure Stripe portal where cancellation takes one click. You can also email contact@alleavia.com with the subject “Cancel Pet Pro” and we’ll cancel within 1 business day. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep Pro access until then. We don’t pro-rata refund partial periods.
Cooling-off (EU 14-day right of withdrawal): for the first 14 days of a paid Pet Pro subscription, you can withdraw and get a full refund — even if the trial has ended — by emailing us. Note: if you’ve actively used Pro features (AI generations, multi-pet sync, etc.) you’ve consented to start the service immediately and the right to withdrawal does not apply once the service is fully performed. We’ll always honour the spirit of the rule for genuine “didn’t realise I subscribed” cases.
Price changes: we won’t increase your subscription price during an active billing period. Renewal-price changes are notified at least 30 days in advance with a clear option to cancel before they apply.
Termination by us: we reserve the right to suspend or terminate Pet Pro for fraud, abuse, payment failures, or breach of these Terms — with a refund of any unused prepaid period unless the cause is fraud or abuse.
4. One-shot paid AI services
We offer one-shot paid AI products — currently the AI Vet Visit Summary (€4.99), AI Breed Identifier (€2.99), AI Diet Plan (€7.99), AI Training Plan (€9.99) and Pet Health Report PDF (price varies). These are not subscriptions — you pay once, you receive one report.
By starting an AI service, you consent to the AI processing beginning immediately. Once the AI report has been generated and emailed to you (typically within minutes), the service is fully performed and the EU 14-day right of withdrawal no longer applies. If the AI fails to deliver a usable report within 24 hours we will refund in full.
5. Free tools and AI chat (Allie)
Our calculators, breed library, food safety database, and the Allie chat widget are free to use. Free AI chat is rate-limited (currently 10 messages per hour per IP); Pet Pro members get higher limits. Rate limits exist to keep the service running for everyone — we may adjust them with reasonable notice.

6. AI disclaimer — not a substitute for veterinary advice
Our AI services and free calculators provide general guidance only based on widely-available pet-care information. They are not a substitute for veterinary, legal, or other professional advice. AI outputs may contain errors, outdated information, or content that doesn’t apply to your specific pet’s situation.
If your pet shows symptoms of illness, has eaten something potentially toxic, or has had an accident, contact a vet immediately. In an emergency, the cost of a phone call to your vet is always justified — don’t rely on an AI tool. Alleavia accepts no responsibility for decisions made on the basis of AI outputs, calculator results, or general site content.
7. Your account and content
Pet profiles, vet logs, gallery uploads and other content you save are stored under your WordPress account. By default, profiles are private; you can opt-in to a public emergency QR profile (see Privacy Policy section on QR profiles). Don’t store anything in your account that you’d be embarrassed by — we can read it for support, abuse-handling, and legal-request purposes.
You retain ownership of content you upload. By uploading you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and back up that content for the purpose of running the service. This licence ends when you delete the content (subject to backup-retention windows — typically 30 days).
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, mass-download, or replicate the site at scale (the breed/food/calculator content is the result of significant work and is not free to copy commercially).
- Use AI services to generate harmful, illegal, or hateful content, or to extract our system prompts.
- Reverse-engineer, attack, or attempt to breach the security of the Site.
- Resell or sub-license Pet Pro to others, or share account credentials.
- Submit false reports, abusive messages, or use the contact form for spam.
We can suspend or terminate accounts for serious breaches without refund. For minor breaches we’ll usually warn first.
9. Intellectual property
The Site, its design, code, brand, logos, calculators, breed profiles, food safety database, and original written content are owned by Alleavia or licensed to us. You can read, share, link to, and use the free tools as a member of the public. You can’t republish substantial portions of our content as your own.
Linking to us is welcome and encouraged. Brief quotes with credit and a link back are fine. Wholesale copying is not.
10. Liability and limitations
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Irish or EU consumer law — your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected.
Subject to that, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Site is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid Alleavia in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) €100. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (lost profits, lost data, lost time) or for outcomes that depend on your or your vet’s judgment.
Specifically:
- We don’t guarantee 100% uptime — we run on commercial hosting and target 99%+ but can’t promise it.
- We’re not liable for AI errors, calculator errors, or pet-care decisions made on the basis of free-tool output. Always cross-check important decisions with a vet.
- We’re not liable for third-party services (Stripe, Moonshot AI, Hostinger, shipping carriers) — though we’ll help you sort issues that arise.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by Irish law. The courts of Ireland have non-exclusive jurisdiction over disputes — but you also have the right to bring a claim in your country of residence under EU consumer law if you live in the EU.
For consumer disputes, you can also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We always prefer to sort issues directly first — please email contact@alleavia.com before escalating.
