Cats sleep against things, not on them
Watch where a cat chooses to sleep and it is almost always tucked against something — the arm of a sofa, a wall, a pile of laundry. Contact with a raised edge is what makes a spot feel safe. A flat mat gives them nothing to lean on, which is why so many go unused.

Good to know
Placement decides everything. Put it where your cat already chooses to sleep — warm, elevated, with a view of the door. A bed in a quiet spare room stays empty. Also fine for small dogs. Wash on a cool cycle; hot washes flatten the pile that makes it appealing.
