Catch tangles before they become mats
A loose tangle takes seconds to comb out. Left a fortnight it felts into a mat, tightens against the skin, and becomes a clipping job. This comb is for the first stage, on Persians, Maine Coons, Collies, Spaniels and anything else with length.
How to use it properly
- Work in small sections, from the ends inward — never drag from the root.
- Hold the hair above the tangle so you pull against your hand, not their skin.
- Behind the ears, armpits, and under the tail — where mats always start.
Good to know
If a mat is already tight to the skin, stop. Skin lifts into mats and is easily cut; that is a groomer or vet job, not a home one. Little and often beats one long battle — a few minutes several times a week keeps a long coat ahead of the problem.
