Temperament

Independent, cat-like, mischievous. Affectionate with family but aloof with strangers. NOT a dog for someone who wants Labrador-style devotion — they're more like a dog-shaped cat.

Exercise

60+ minutes daily. Built for endurance, strong prey drive. Escape artists — secure 6ft fencing essential.

Grooming

Short coat, self-grooming. Brush weekly. Almost no doggy smell.

Health

Watch for: Fanconi syndrome (kidney disease, DNA test essential), progressive retinal atrophy, hip dysplasia, hypothyroidism.

Temperament
