Temperament
Affectionate, smart, alert, vocal. Corgis are people-oriented and excellent with children. The herding instinct can include nipping β train it out early.
Exercise
60 minutes of daily exercise plus mental work. Surprisingly athletic; agility, herding trials, scent work.
Grooming
Double coat sheds heavily year-round, more during seasonal moults. Brush 3Γ weekly. Light trimming around feet.
Health
Intervertebral disc disease (long backs β manage like Dachshunds, no jumping/stairs). Hip dysplasia. Degenerative myelopathy (DNA test). Eye conditions. Obesity (food motivated).
