Bred by the Mahlemut people of Alaska's Norton Sound to haul heavy freight over long distances, the Alaskan Malamute is larger and more powerful than the Siberian Husky. They're affectionate, sociable with people but often dog-aggressive β€” a serious working breed in a pet home is a misfit unless owners commit to real activity.
