The Bouvier des Flandres was developed in the Flanders region of Belgium and France as a cattle drover, cart-puller and farm guardian. Used as messenger dogs in WWI. Powerful, intelligent, and devoted — a serious working companion.

Calm, brave, intelligent, devoted, naturally protective.
Exercise needs
90 minutes daily plus mental work.
Grooming
Tousled wire coat. Brush 2–3× weekly; trim every 8 weeks.
Common health issues
Hip dysplasia. Subaortic stenosis. Glaucoma. Bloat / GDV.
