Tonkinese
Burmese × Siamese cross. The talkative, playful "Tonk" combines the best of both.

The Tonkinese was developed in 1960s North America by crossing the Siamese and Burmese. The result is a "best of both" cat: less extreme features than modern Siamese, vocal but not as loud, affectionate and athletic. Most Tonks have stunning aqua-blue eyes (mink coat).
Temperament
Affectionate, sociable, playful, vocal but not loud. Excellent with children, dogs and other cats.
Exercise needs
Active and play-driven. Cat trees, food puzzles, harness walks.
Grooming
Short coat — weekly brush.
Common health issues
Generally healthy. Watch for: amyloidosis, asthma, gingivitis, lymphoma.

Families with children, multi-pet homes, first-time owners.
👎 Not best for
Owners who want a quiet aloof cat.
