When the harness keeps failing before the dog does
1000D nylon is the weight of fabric used for gear that gets dragged through undergrowth and abraded against everything — noticeably tougher than the polyester used in a standard walking harness. If you have a large, powerful dog and you are replacing harnesses rather than growing out of them, this is the difference that matters.
Where it earns the extra
- 1000D nylon shell — abrasion resistance well beyond a standard mesh or polyester vest.
- Runs to XL, so it covers the large working breeds that top out a normal size range.
- Quick-release buckles — heavy-duty does not have to mean a fight to get it on.
- Reflective detailing for low light.
- Adjustable at neck and chest, with a padded vest panel spreading the load.
- Three colours — black, red and blue — in S, M, L and XL.
Choosing the size
Measure chest girth just behind the front legs and pick the size that leaves your measurement inside its range with room to spare. Between two sizes, size up and adjust down. For a heavy dog it is worth measuring properly rather than estimating: this is the harness you will lean on when they lunge.
Good to know
Heavier and stiffer than the standard tactical vest, which is exactly the point — for a small or lightly built dog it is more harness than they need, and the lighter version will be more comfortable. Hand wash or machine wash. Fit to two fingers under any strap, and check the buckles and stitching periodically, because the whole reason for buying this one is that the load is real.
