The Airedale Terrier is the largest of the terriers — the "King of Terriers" — bred in Yorkshire's Aire Valley as a versatile working dog. Used as messenger dogs in WWI. Modern Airedales are confident, athletic, intelligent and need a job.

Exercise needs

90 minutes daily plus mental work.

Grooming

Wire double coat. Hand-strip every 8 weeks. Weekly brush.

Hip dysplasia. Hypothyroidism. Bloat / GDV. Skin allergies.
