Bred in 19th-century Germany as a versatile gun dog — point, retrieve, track and hunt big and small game equally. The "GSP" is one of the most athletic dog breeds and a fantastic family dog for active owners. Their endurance is the trade-off — under-exercised, they're destructive.
Temperament
Friendly, intelligent, eager-to-please, energetic. GSPs love being with their family and excel at almost any sport.
Exercise needs
120+ minutes of vigorous daily exercise. Running, hiking, swimming, hunting, dock-diving — they're built for endurance.

Short coat, weekly brush.

Generally healthy. Hip dysplasia. Bloat / GDV. Lymphedema. Eye conditions. Hypothyroidism.
